  • Automotive Technology

     

    • There is significant regional labor market demand for Automotive Technicians (SOC Code 49-3023), which is the 3rd CTE area being offered (CIP Code 47.0604). While the Northeast Labor Market Blueprint doesn’t cite the Automotive Repair and Maintenance industry as critical to the region, it does rank Automotive Technician as an important 4-star occupation, since there is a high demand for skilled workers and it provides relatively high wages. On average, an entry-level Automotive Technician earns $44K/yr. with a progression to $82K/yr. for a mid-level technician (5-10 years in the trade). According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there is a higher-than-average growth rate at (15%) in Automotive Technology, with the state employing 7,230 in the field.

  • Health Assisting

      
     

    • The Health Assisting Program provides thorough knowledge of the healthcare industry and prepares students to work in the healthcare field. We offer a human service curriculum within a framework of modern technology. Combining medical technology and the human touch, the healthcare industry diagnoses, treats and administers care around the clock, responding to the needs of millions of people - from newborn to the terminally ill, from all walks of life with respect to the diversity of it’s clients.


  • Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVAC/R)

       

    • Labor demand for HVAC Technicians is projected to grow significantly as a result of new Massachusetts carbon reduction goals and incentives through heating system conversions. We seek to prepare After Dark Program graduates for employment in this expanding field by adding an additional cohort of HVAC students. By doing so, we’re also responding to another recommendation of the Future of Work Commission which is to ensure a supported transition in Massachusetts to clean energy jobs.


  • Welding and Metal Fabrication

         

    • Our Metal Fabrication Program prepares grads for high demand occupations such as Welders (SOC Code 51-4121) (median wage $54,160), Sheet Metal Workers (SOC Code 47-2211) (median wage $50,400) and Structural Metal Fabricators (SOC Code 51-2041) (median wage $51,460,390).
