    Course Information

    Start Date: February 8, 2021

    End Date: June 2, 2021

    The student will learn the fundamental skills needed to perform as an entry level technician in the HVAC and Refrigeration trade. Upon completion, students will be able to demonstrate the specific skills needed to perform at an entry level position.


    Class Size: 12

    Course Requirements: Chromebook/Laptop, Notebooks


    Course Topics:

    Health and safety for the workplace

    Basic communication skills

    Identification and proper use of hand tools

    Proper identification and use of hazards chemicals related to HVAC


    Learning Outcomes:

    Refrigeration pipe joining both brazing and mechanical connections

    Install manifold gauges and perform diagnostic testing

    Evacuation and charging of equipment

    Basic wiring skills including both high and low voltage


    Job titles training will prepare you for:

    Residential Technician 

    Residential Installer

    Preventative Techninican 

    Sheetmetal Mechanic 

    Building Maintenance


    Anticipated Pay Scale:


    $15 to $21 per hour $38,000 to $51,000 per year

    After three years: $51,000 to $90,000 per year
