Automotive Technology

Automotive technology student working under the hood of a vehicle in the GLTS auto shop

Program Description

Behind every well-maintained vehicle is a skilled technician trained in precision and problem-solving. The Automotive Technology program equips students with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to diagnose, repair, and maintain modern vehicles. Following the ASE Education Foundation guidelines, students focus on Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR), working on donated and customer-owned vehicles while mastering essential automotive systems.

Safety is a top priority, and students receive rigorous training before using tools and equipment. From learning basic maintenance to tackling complex mechanical issues, they develop the confidence and expertise needed for entry-level positions in repair shops, dealerships, and beyond. By the time they graduate, students are fully prepared to step into the fast-paced world of automotive service.
