Culinary Arts
Program Description
From crafting gourmet dishes to mastering the science of baking, the Culinary Arts program blends theory and practice to prepare students for careers in the foodservice industry. Training takes place in a fully equipped, commercial kitchen, where students develop expertise in food preparation, baking and pastry arts, nutrition, and sanitation.
Students put their skills to the test in real-world settings like the Four Winds Restaurant and Reggie Café, where they gain experience in menu planning, hospitality, and kitchen operations. A strong emphasis on food safety and sanitation ensures that students understand and apply industry standards, including the requirements for earning their ServSafe certification.
Beyond cooking, the program includes employment education, helping students explore career opportunities, build job search skills, and prepare for entry-level positions in restaurants, catering, and hospitality. Whether aspiring to be chefs, pastry artists, or restaurant managers, students leave with the skills and certifications to succeed in the fast-paced culinary world.
