Dental Assisting

Dental Assisting students practicing chairside procedures in the GLTS dental lab

Program Description

A bright smile starts with a skilled team, and the Dental Assisting program prepares students to be essential members of the dental health profession. Combining health science education with hands-on technical training, the program equips students to perform chairside assisting, infection control, laboratory procedures, and administrative tasks in a professional setting.

Before using any dental instruments or equipment, students undergo rigorous safety training to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and infection control protocols. Students gain valuable experience in four-handed dentistry, dental radiography, and patient care, preparing them for careers in dental offices, orthodontic practices, and oral surgery clinics.

With opportunities for work experience and industry certifications, graduates enter the workforce with the confidence and skills to build a successful career in dental assisting, helping to improve patient care and oral health in their communities.
