Medical Assisting

Medical assisting students practicing patient care skills in a clinical training environment

Program Description

The Medical Assisting program is where science, technology, and human connection come together. Students develop the clinical and administrative skills needed to support healthcare professionals in fast-paced medical environments. From conducting diagnostic tests and managing electronic health records to providing direct patient care, they gain hands-on experience in real-world medical settings.

Safety and precision are critical, and students complete extensive training in infection control, lab protocols, and bloodborne pathogen precautions before stepping into their roles. They also earn certifications, including OSHA CareerSafe, CPR through the American Heart Association, and the nationally recognized Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential. By organizing an annual Medical Health Fair and participating in clinical rotations, students graduate prepared for careers in healthcare—or to continue their studies in nursing, medical administration, or allied health fields.
