MassAbility offers a range of services tailored to individuals with disabilities, each with specific age eligibility criteria:
Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS):
Available to students aged 14 to 21 (up to their 22nd birthday) who are enrolled in high school or post-secondary education or training programs. These services include job exploration counseling, workplace readiness training, work-based learning experiences, counseling on post-secondary training opportunities, and self-advocacy instruction.
Career Services:
Designed for individuals preparing to transition from high school to employment, these services can begin as early as two years prior to high school graduation. They encompass assessment, counseling and guidance, training, education, and assistive technology to support career development.
Home Care Assistance Program:
Eligibility requires individuals to be between the ages of 18 and 59, have a disability that prevents them from performing one or more homemaking tasks, and meet other specific criteria related to living arrangements and financial guidelines.
Supported Living Program (SLP):
This program assists youth and adults aged 16 and older with physical disabilities and an additional secondary disability, offering help in managing daily life activities, including case management and skills training. Services can commence one year before high school completion and may continue as needed.
Statewide Head Injury Program (SHIP):
Primarily serves individuals aged 18 and older with traumatic brain injuries, though limited services may be available to consumers starting at birth. The program aims to help participants maintain and increase their level of independence at home.
