Technology Department

Our Mission

At Greater Lawrence Technical School (GLTS), the Technology Department is committed to providing innovative and reliable technology solutions that support student learning, faculty instruction, and administrative operations. Our goal is to foster a modern, digitally connected environment where technology enhances education and empowers every member of our school community.

As a team of dedicated IT professionals, we work diligently to ensure that all students and staff have access to state-of-the-art tools, secure digital resources, and responsive technical support. We strive to keep GLTS at the forefront of educational technology by:

  • Maintaining a secure, high-speed network infrastructure to support seamless connectivity across the school.

  • Providing prompt and effective IT support to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.

  • Assisting in the selection and implementation of advanced technology solutions to enrich curriculum and instruction.

  • Ensuring data security, user management, and compliance with industry best practices.

  • Expanding wireless access and virtualization efforts to improve efficiency and sustainability.

With technology playing a critical role in education, we are dedicated to ensuring that every student and staff member is equipped with the digital skills and resources necessary to succeed in an evolving technological landscape. In-Person Support

Students and Staff may visit the help desk located in the library during regular school hours for in-person technology support. The Technology Department can assist Students with Chromebook troubleshooting and account password resets. The technology department assists staff with computer and application related issues. The Technology Department  has partnered with both our Programming and IT programs, which provides co-op students who work alongside Technology Staff. These students have the ability to apply what they are learning in the classroom, while also obtaining interpersonal skills to help them navigate life.

In addition to keeping GLTS at the forefront of educational technology, We provide the following technological resources:

  • 1 - 1 Chromebook devices for all students
  • Google Apps for Education
  • Access to industry standard applications
  • ViewSonic interactive smart displays in all learning areas
  • PowerSchools is our primary student information system. It’s an online system that helps you stay informed and involved in your student’s education.

Verizon's Lifeline program is to move the world forward for everyone providing access to quality, affordable phone and internet service for households with limited incomes.

T-Mobile Project 10 Million  

T-Mobile is committed to helping close the homework gap by offering eligible households 100GB of data per year and a FREE mobile hotspot for 5 years
