About the Program
IT After Dark is comprehensive and more technical than a Cybersecurity Program. IT After Dark provides foundational IT knowledge required to apply cybersecurity best-practices. IT After Dark prepares the next-generation workforce for the IT industry, exposing them to skills possessed by entry-level IT professionals such as: Help Desk/Field/Service Desk Technicians, System Engineers, and Network Technicians.
Students will learn, with real hardware, in a hands-on lab setting:
- PC building, troubleshooting, and OS installations
- OS Command-line operations and scripts
- Cybersecurity fundamentals and ethical hacking
- Network and Internet Fundamentals: How the internet works
- Structured Low-Voltage Datacenter Wiring
- Building a Home Theater setup and SOHO network
- Server Virtualization and Public Cloud (AWS)
According to the U.S Bureau of Economic Analysis, the Information Industry Group, only second to Financial and Insurance, contributed to the largest change in real GDP in 2025 Q2. Information Technology continues to be a hot market; it plays a massive role in our country's economy and government.
